Menstrual disorders: Absence of menstruation or amenorrhoea


Every woman in reproductive age undergoes a series of changes in her body in adaptation for the possibility of pregnancy. Each woman,s experience during this phase is unique.

Menstrual disorders are problems that affects woman.s normal menstrual cycle
Absence of menstruation ever after attaining reproductive age is called amenorrhoea. It can be due to primary and secondary causes. It can be due to hormonal or physiological causes.
Primary Amenorrhoea
If a woman never had a menstrual bleed, the condition is called primary amenorrhoea.
Secondary Amenorrhoea
When established menstruation stops and there is no history of menstruation since 6 months it is called secondary.
Common cause is pregnancy and also can be due to pathological causes.
