There are two types of diabetes. Type 1 and Type 2. In this article we are discussing Type 1 only. Type 1 diabetes is the type of diabetes which is usually developed in children and young adults. The body stops making insulin and the blood sugar (glucose) level goes very high. Treatment to control the blood glucose level is with insulin injections and a healthy diet.
Diabetes mellitus type 1 (also known as type 1 diabetes, or T1DM; formerly insulin-dependent diabetes or juvenile diabetes) is a form of diabetes mellitus that results from the autoimmune destruction of theinsulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas.
Out of all diabetic patients, around 5-10 percent people are diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
